Calculator entries
Calculations run in your browser. Grade Signal does not require an account and does not ask for your name, school, student number, or transcript. Values entered in the calculators are not sent to Grade Signal.
Browser storage
The main grade calculator stores your entered rows, mode, and target grade in local browser storage. Each visit starts with empty fields. Use Restore saved entries to load a previous calculation on this device. Examples do not overwrite saved entries. Clear form replaces the saved grade rows and target with empty values. You can remove all stored values by clearing site data for mygradesignal.com in your browser.
Hosting and security information
Grade Signal is delivered through Cloudflare. When a browser requests a page, Cloudflare may process technical request information such as an IP address, request headers, requested URL, timestamp, and security data to deliver and protect the site. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Grade Signal uses Cloudflare Web Analytics and Real User Measurements to understand page traffic and page performance. Cloudflare automatically loads a lightweight JavaScript beacon. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies or local storage for analytics and does not fingerprint individual visitors.
The Cloudflare beacon does not receive values entered in the calculators. Grade Signal does not currently load advertising scripts or create advertising profiles.
Optional PostHog analytics
If you choose Allow analytics, we send limited calculator-use events to PostHog's EU service. These include the calculator page, broad traffic source and device category, and actions such as a first valid calculation, a validation error, copying a result or printing a chart. We use these events to check whether the tools are useful and to find usability problems.
We do not send your grades, targets, course names, credits, input text, URL query strings or full referring URLs. We do not use session recordings, automatic click capture, personal profiles or advertising tracking. Each page load receives a new random event identifier, kept in memory only. It does not identify you across page loads. PostHog receives technical request information, including your IP address and browser headers, to accept the request; our event configuration disables location enrichment and does not supply an IP property value.
We store only your analytics choice in local storage under grade-signal-analytics-consent-v1. No PostHog cookies or persistent visitor identifiers are created. Choose No thanks to keep optional analytics off. Use Analytics preferences in the footer to change your choice. Withdrawal stops future events; events already received are not automatically deleted. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals also stop these optional events.
